It’s Nearly Tee Off time for the Irish Open at Fota Island.
Excitement is mounting in Cork in what promises to be an exciting Open Championship at the Fota Island Resort. If the weather forecast is favourable, maybe we will have a repeat of the excellent conditions for spectators back in 2002 and 2002 when the tournament last visited Cork.
Some things will not be the same tough. Killer Whales for example! Some will remember that a small pod of these magnificent creatures swam all the way up to the City Hall back then.
The Pro AM kicks off on Wednesday, where some lucky amateur golfers will get to play with world famous pro’s. Included in the line-up is John Daly, Graeme McDowell, Rory McIlroy, Ryder Cup Captain, Paul McGinley, Jose Maria Olazabel, Peter Lawrie, Padraig Harrington and Darren Clark. Wednesday is actually a good day to visit and see the pro’s up close as the crowd will not be so large.
Thursday and Friday will see some tough competition with a cut off on Friday after play. The leaders will then go forward to battle it out on Saturday and Sunday.
Don’t miss this great opportunity to witness some golfing great’s in action.
