Charity Swim Event in Youghal to help youngsters
Did you know that Juvenile Arthritis is as prevalent as diabetes in Ireland? There are no services for this disease at the moment, and this means that children as young as one year of age have no specific treatment centre. Crumlin Hospital is hoping to develop a specialized treatment suite but have been told that there is no government funding available. To address this urgent need, the Irish Children’s Arthritis Network (iCAN) is organizing a series of fundraising events across the country to alleviate the situation.
Stephen Evans is a swimming instructor in the Club Vitae Leisure Centre at the Quality Hotel at Redbarn Beach in Youghal. His daughter, Sarah, was diagnosed with the disease at the age of two. Stephen is organizing a Charity Swim on Sunday 26th & Monday 27th of October from 10am – 4pm on both days. All money donated will go towards developing the first specialised suite in the country specifically for the treatment of Juvenile Arthritis at Crumlin. Sponsorship cards and time slots are available to anyone who wants to take part. Simply give Steve a call on 0863996292 or email him at firstname.lastname@example.org.
