Successful bid at Allsop Auction for the Quality Hotel in Youghal
The future of the Quality Hotel in Youghal looks very bright today following the Allsop Auction this morning in Dublin. A successful bid of €540,000 has seen a management buyout, headed by the General Manager of the resort, Allen McEnery.
There was more great news earlier this week for Redbarn, the EPA graded the water quality as ‘excellent’ for bathing, so the season is getting off to a great start. “I am delighted and extremely happy with the outcome of the auction and it goes without saying that I am excited about the future,” Allen noted. “This brings an end to any uncertainty for both staff and customers and we can all look forward to a super season right here at this wonderful seaside environment”.
Now that the future of the hotel is secure, past visitors can be assured that a great management team will be on-hand to look after them. New chefs in the kitchen has resulted in a surge in business from the locality. There have been changes to the menu, with a new emphasis on mouth-watering and tender slow cooked foods, such as ribs and pulled pork. Traditional fare also features, with Carvery Lunch on Sundays.
Allen has been GM at the Quality Hotel for ten years now and is well known in the leisure industry. He previously managed Fota House as well as the Jameson Experience in Midleton. “We will maintain our focus on families during the holiday season. We have had some spectacular summers over the last few years, but at the same time, we also have lots of ‘weather-proof’ attractions including the Club Vitae Leisure Centre, with a fully equipped gym, swimming pool and Jacuzzi. We also have a Spa and a very popular Kids Camp running over school holidays. Last year, we introduced 3D movies and they proved to be a big hit”.
Summer beckons and the future looks excellent for the Quality Hotel and Redbarn Beach.
